A quick look at how our pitchers did over the last couple of weeks.

Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

It hasn't been a good two weeks for the Jays, we are 3-9 over our last 12 games. Our pitchers had a 4.30 ERA. It hasn't been fun.

R.A. Dickey

R.A. made 3 starts in the last 12 games. He's 0-2 with a 4.26 ERA, 19 innings, 21 hits, 2 home runs, 8 walks and 11 strikeouts. Batters hit .284/.354/.432 against him. Two of the starts were good, 2 earned in 6 innings in each of them, the other one wasn't good, 5 earned in 7 innings. We should have won  Wednesday's game for him. He's been pretty ok.  We scored 6 runs in his 3 starts.

Mark Buehrle

Mark made 2 starts, went 0-1. He pitched 7.1 innings, allowed 19 hits, 2 home runs, 3 walks with 7 strikeouts. Batters hit .475/.512/.725. Yeah he was terrible. We need a much bigger down arrow.

J.A. Happ

He made 3 starts. 2 of them were very good, one wasn't. He was 0-2 with a 3.00 ERA. In 21 innings he allowed 15 hits, 3 home runs, 4 walks with 19 strikeouts. Batters hit .195/.244/.364 against him. We scored 5 runs in his 3 starts. He has been much better than I thought he could be.

Casey Janssen

Casey got into 4 games, 3 were good, in those he allowed just 1 hit and 1 walk. The other, well you know. Unfortunately, the bad outing was in his only save opportunity. In total batters hit .385/.429/1.000 in 14 plate appearances.

Dustin McGowan

Dustin got into 4 games, 3 were good, 1 was bad. In the 3 good ones he allowed just 1 hit and 1 walk in 3.1. The bad one he allowed 2 hits, 2 walks and 3 earned while getting just 1 out. Batters hit .231/.353/.231 against him in 17 PA.

Brett Cecil

Brett pitched in 5 games, the first one was a disaster, giving up 2 home runs to the Astros. The other 4 games were great, we saw the Cecil season from last year, 5.1 innings, 2 hits, 1 walk and 8 strikeouts. In all it's a 5.06 ERA, 1 hold, batters hit .238/.273/.571

Brad Mills

Came up, pitched in 1 game, got DFAed. It didn't go well, 2.1 innings, 3 hits, 5 earned, 3 walks and 2 strikeouts. The walks are the surprising part, he's averaging 1.9 walks/9 in the minors.

Todd Redmond

Todd pitched in just 2 games. 4.2 innings, 2 hits, 0 earned, 4 walks and 2 strikeouts. In 18 PA, batters hit .167/.353/.250. He's been great all year. Unfortunately, for him, he's fallen back into the long relief role.
