Diamondbacks claim Nolan Reimold

Dennis Wierzbicki-USA TODAY Sports

The Arizona Diamondbacks claimed Nolan Reimold off waivers.

Nolan had a great start to his short stay with the Jays. He had 3 doubles 4 games as a Jay, then hit the DL. His second game after returning from the DL, he hit 2 home runs, but it all went downhill from there. He hit .143/.220/.171 in his last 16 games, and made that bad bad error. I was surprised when the Jays DFAed him just a week before rosters expanded. I like Kevin Pillar much better but I didn't see the point in losing Reimold, for nothin, when, if we waited a few days, we could have both on the roster. Generally Alex Anthopoulos wants to keep assets.

I thought holding on to Reimold and seeing what he can do in spring training would be the way to go, but then I really did expect he'd clear waivers.

Bye Nolan, you did give us some good moments.
