The Blue Jays make some roster moves on the final day of the regular season.
They claimed right-handed pitcher Cory Burns off waivers from the Rays. Cory played in the majors for the Padres in 2012 and the Rangers in 2013. In 29.1 MLB innings he was a 4.60 ERA 17 walks and 23 strikeouts in 27 games, all in relief.
This season he was claimed off waivers by the Rays from the Rangers. He pitched in Double-A and Triple-A with the 2.32 ERA in 31 innings between the two, 6 walks and 29 strikeouts. Before that he pitched 32 innings for Round Rock the Rangers PCL team and had a 7.44 ERA there.
Also they have moved Matt Hague onto the 40-man roster. Hague finished the 2014 season with the Bisons, hitting .377 in 13 games there.
To make room, they moved Melky Cabrera and Chad Jenkins to the 60-day DL.
Adam Morris, from Lone Star Ball, tells us:
