Vote for the SB Nation Hitter of the Year

Not that I'm campaigning.
Not that I'm campaigning.
Peter Llewellyn-USA TODAY Sports

It is awards season and SB Nation is doing some awards of our very own.

Today's is Hitter of the Year.

The idea of this one is to vote for who you think is the batter of the year in the MLB, ignoring (if you can) defense, base running, grittiness and all that other good stuff.

I'll list half a dozen nominees, and leave it to you to pick who you think is the Hitter of the Year. Use your own criteria. SB is leaving it pretty open to interpretation, so I'm not going to try to push you in any direction.

Once we vote, the powers that be, in SB Nation, will take our votes and the overall SB Nation Hitter of the Year will be chosen based on that voting.

The hitters are listed in the poll in alphabetical order. I'm not going to suggest who deserves your vote, it is up to you how you choose.

We will have one poll a day for the rest of the week. Here is the schedule.

Tues, Nov. 17: Pitcher of the year (we vote on all of MLB)
Weds, Nov. 18: Defensive play of the year (we vote on just the Jays)
Thurs, Nov. 19: Bat flip / Celebration of the year (we vote on just the Jays)
Fri, Nov 20: Best Breakage of Unwritten Rules (we vote on all of MLB)

On those last three...I'm going to need your help. Give me your suggestions for best Blue Jay defensive play, best Jay bat flip/celebration (yeah, I think we all know the winner on that one) and best breakage of unwritten rules in the comments tread here and (if you can) include a link to video of the play.

So give us your vote and thank you for your participation.
