Ken Rosenthal tells us that Eric Wedge will likely have a job with the Jays.
At first Ken said 'front office':
Sources: Eric Wedge a candidate to become part of #BlueJays’ front office after team names new GM. Managed under Shapiro with #Indians.

And then he corrected himself, saying....
Clarification on Wedge: Role with #BlueJays, if hired, would not necessarily be in front office. Would be in organization in some capacity.

Wedge was the manager for the Indians for 7 seasons, before taking the same job in Seattle for 3.
Having Wedge around would be seemingly put John Gibbons on the hot seat. Wedge has a history with Mark Shapiro and won the AL Manager of the Year award with the Indians in 2007. Minor Leaguer figures that, since Wedge lives in Buffalo, he might take the manager job for the Bisons, while he bides his time, waiting for a major league job. That would be a good spot to be 'manager in waiting' with the Jays, and, if another MLB job appeared, he would be available. I'll admit, if I was Gibbons, I'd wondering if my days are numbered.
There has been a rumor that Ross Atkins, Indians Vice President of Player Personnel and Tony LaCava are the 'finalists' for the Jays GM job. I'm not sure the Wedge rumors are a hint that Atkins is going get the job but you could read it that way.
