Marcus Stroman to take summer courses at Duke University to complete his sociology degree

It's no that I've cropped this photo, Rob Carr actually zoomed in on Stroman's hair because it is glorious.

Injured for the entirety of 2015, Blue Jays pitcher Marcus Stroman will be working hard in rehab and in the classrooms of Duke University as the pitcher has announced his intentions to return to Durham this summer to complete his degree in sociology.

Stroman was drafted after he finished his junior (third) year at Duke by the Blue Jays in the first round of the June 2012 draft and so still has a handful of credits left before getting his B.A. Besides independent study courses, there are only three upper-level instructional courses offered in the summer: a social research methodology course (ugh), intellectual property and innovation (cool), and a quantitative analysis (ie. stats) course. So if you are into stalking players, it won't be too difficult to find Stroman this summer. Of course he probably has some options from other departments. OK I am over-analyzing this.

Anyway, Stroman actually teased us about this news with this tweet this morning:

A few hours later, he tweeted out his new card from Topps:

Unfortunately, some poor sap named Michael Hoad at Sportsnet.ca put those two tweets together and jumped to the conclusion that Stroman's initial tweet was about the release of the card. Hoad was corrected shortly after (although the piece on Sportsnet.ca was still there at the time this article was published):

wronglol

One day, hopefully one day soon, Stroman will make my day and correct me on one of my posts. Probably after he takes that stats course this summer.
