GameThread for Game 8: Rays @ Jays

Nick Turchiaro-USA TODAY Sports

I guess even a team averaging 5.5 runs per game will have the odd game where they can't score. I'm hoping it doesn't happen two days in a row.

R.A. Dickey had a good game, with one very bad inning. Unfortunately, we couldn't make up the 2 runs he allowed.

You know, I think it is time to get someone up with the team that could give Jose Reyes a day off:

This stuff bugs me....they said they would rest Reyes more this year, and he's hurting and he's still playing everyday. At least have him DH for a game or two.

Oh well.

Daniel Norris gets his second start of the season. He went 5.2 innings, seemed to tired at the end of it, he gave up 2 home runs in the 6th inning. I think me might be a 6 inning pitcher for the first couple of months of the season. Course, now that I've said that, he'll go 8 tonight.

The Rays have something they found in last night's crowd pitching for them tonight. Matt Andriese is making his first career start tonight, he threw a scoreless inning of relief against the Marlins last week.

The big story out of last night was the turf, which apparently is a bunch slower than last year, and there is this:

Which is more than a little weird.
