Jays Minor League teams go 4-1 on Wednesday including a Dunedin walk-off

In the early game, Jeff Francis had a strong start as the Herd stretched 2 runs to victory. Francis went 5 innings, allowing 2 hits and 2 walks, striking out 5. Bo Schultz threw 2 perfect innings with 3 K's to end the game. Ryan Goins provided the offense, with a 2-run single in the 2nd, and another single. Chris Colabello added a hit, while Andy Wilkins had the 4th Buffalo hit and also added a walk.

In the night cap, Andrew Albers told Francis that anything he could do, Albers could do better. Albers went 6, allowing 4 hits and a walk, striking out 5. Bobby Korecky pitched a perfect 7th to end the game, striking out 1. The Herd had a little more offense in this one. Brad Glenn drove in both runs on a bases loaded double. He also added a single. Andy Wilkins had 2 singles in this one as well. Ezequiel Carrera and Matt Hague also had singles.

New Hampshire lost after a strong Matt Boyd start. For the second straight start, Boyd struck out 9. This time he threw 5 innings, allowing 1 hit and 2 walks. He also got 4 ground ball outs. The bullpen wasn't as strong. Greg Burke allowed a run on 3 hits in his inning. He did record 2 strike outs. Dustin Antolin gave up 2 runs in his 2 innings. He allowed 3 hits and walk, and did strike out a batter. Luis Perez threw an inning with 1 walk, 1 hit and 1 strike out.

Andy Burns led the offense with 2 hits, including his first HR of the year. Jake Fox had a double. Dwight Smith, Ryan Schimpf, Pierce Rankin & Jorge Flores each had singles.

Dunedin found a way to blow the lead and walk the game off. Brad Allen started and gave up 3 runs on 9 hits and 2 walks over 5.2. He got 2 strike outs and 7 ground outs. Murphy Smith allowed a run in 1.1 on 2 hits. He did get 2 strikeouts. Wil Browning blew the lead in the 9th. He threw 2 innings allowing 2 hits. He did get 3 K's. The defense was helped out significantly by David Harris picking up 3 outfield assists in the game. Pretty solid effort there

Offensively, every starter had a hit but Harris. Roemon Fields singled in the winning run in the bottom of 9. He previously had a triple. Dawel Lugo also had a single and a triple. Mitch Nay & Christian Lopes both had 2 singles. Mike Reeves had a double and walk. Matt Dean had a double as well. Emilio Guerrero had a single and a walk. Derrick Loveless also had a hit.

Lansing got a strong start from Chase De Jong as he went 5 innings, giving up 3 hits and a walk. De Jong struck out 5. Jose Fernandez went 2.2 hitless innings. He did allow 2 walks but struck out 4. Andrew Case got an out before turning it over to Phil Kish for the 9th where he gave up a hit and struck out a batter to end the game.

Offensively, the winning run was scored on 2 errors. D.J. Davis had a single, moved to 2nd on a throwing error. He then scored on a Dickie Joe Thon error. Rowdy Tellez had 2 singles in the game. Gunnar Heidt had a double. Thon had a single and 2 walks. Ryan McBroom had a single as well. Davis struck out 3 times to go with his single. Danny Jansen also struck out 3 times. The Lugs did get 3 stolen bases in the game. Heidt had his 3rd and Thon picked up his first 2 of the year.
