Dioner Navarro has a strained left hamstring and is going on the 15-day DL. Josh Thole has been recalled from Buffalo.
Dioner is batting .267/.294/.333 with 2 doubles, 4 RBI, 2 walks and 3 strikeouts. He had a good game on Tuesday, going 3 for 5 with a double. On the double he made it to third with the help of a Travis Snider error. And he also beat out an infield single, something that surprised me. After that he went first to third on Dalton Pompey's single. An inning later he was thrown out a second trying to stretch a double into a double. That's likely where he strained the hamstring.
Josh Thole is hitting .269/.345/.269 in Buffalo. 7 singles in 26 at bats. I'd imagine they'll have him catch R.A. Dickey while he is up. I would think so anyway.
We seem to be running into some injury troubles early in the season. At least they've been minor.
I guess this means that Justin Smoak will get more playing time, which I'm not against.
The Jays have also released Andy Dirks. He's had back surgery again and isn't expected to play this season.
