Randy Mobley, the President of the triple-A International League, announced this morning that the Buffalo Bisons' first baseman Chris Colabello was named the IL Player of the Month for April, as Tom mentioned in his post this morning. During that month, he led the league with home runs and RBI while slashing .338/.427/.592 on the heels of a .392 BABIP. This is the second time he's won the award--the first time was in June 2013 when he was with the Twins' Rochester Red Wings.
Today's show's description from host Jesse Goldberg-Strassler
What's the latest from the Blue Jays' Minor League system? Triple-A Buffalo keeps on winning late, Double-A New Hampshire gets hot, A-Advanced Dunedin lost players to promotions, and Single-A Lansing returns from a week-long road trip featuring dazzling relief from Chase Mallard and Justin Shafer. Join the broadcasters from the Jays' affiliates -- including future PITCH Talks: Buffalo host Ben Wagner -- in talking about the first-place Bisons and Lugnuts, the resurgent Fisher Cats, and an intriguing D-Jays squad looking to break out.
Around The Nest will be live here starting at 5 pm Eastern.
As always, you can ask questions about the Bisons, Fisher Cats, the D-Jays, and Lugnuts at the comments below. Jesse will try to get through as many of them on air as possible.
My question this week is for Ben Wagner in Buffalo: can he give us a preview of what we can expect from recent call-up Andrew Albers?
