Surprise, Blue Jays activate Jose Reyes, option Munenori Kawasaki

Dan Hamilton-USA TODAY Sports

That was a short visit to Toronto for Munenori Kawasaki. He had just 6 PA, and had 1 single and 1 walk. but at least he got a few days worth of MLB money out of it.

Jose Reyes makes it back, he last played April 27, so he missed just less than a month. When he went on the DL he was hitting .250/.266/.300, but he started the season great, hitting .417/.444/.500 after a week of games, before suffering the cracked rib and trying to get by hitting just right-handed. He'll be back switch hitting now.

He played 3 rehab games in Buffalo, getting 4 hits and 2 walks in 11 at bats. Hopefully his return will jump start an offense that has been pretty lackluster lately.

I'd imagine that Ryan Goins and Steve Tolleson will be splitting time at second base, until Devon Travis returns. Both Goins and Tolleson have been hitting, so platooning should work well.
