Update: Munenori Kawasaki recalled from Buffalo, Steve Tolleson DL move confirmed

John E. Sokolowski-USA TODAY Sports

During the middle of the Blue Jays contest against the Twins this afternoon, news came out that Munenori Kawasaki has once again been recalled from Buffalo. As you'll recall, the loveable Japanese infielder was on the team just six days ago before he was sent back to the minors when Jose Reyes was eligible to come off the disabled list. As he hasn't been on optional assignment for the required ten days that means a DL move is coming for the Blue Jays to allow Kawasaki to come back up after only a few days. With Steve Tolleson last appearing in a game four days ago and struggling with an injury, it's likely that he will be the one put on the shelf.

During his three games with Toronto last week Kawasaki went 1-5 with a walk and okay defence at second base. With Devon Travis eligible to come of the DL in a few days, Kawasaki likely won't have time to unpack his bags and will be sent back to Buffalo in short order for the second time in two weeks.

Tolleson tweaked his groin a few days ago but apparently was available for yesterday's game:

More to come when the move is confirmed.

Update

As expected, it is Tolleson going to the DL retro from May 27.
