GameThread for Game 27: Yankees at Jays

Just after I posted this, I got an email from the Jays PR people:

The TORONTO BLUE JAYS will appeal the suspension of hitting coach Brook Jacoby. The club will not comment on the situation until the appeal is heard.

I'm guessing this has something to do with the incident between the Jays coaching staff and the umpires back in Fenway Park, which led to MLB asking the visiting teams at Fenway to wait for the umpires to get into their room before going down to the clubhouse. Fenway is not exactly build for the modern MLB.

It sure feels like we are more than a couple of games below .500, doesn't it.

Every time I turn on the computer, it seems I'm reading more bad news about a Blue Jays with aches and pains. This time is is Mark Buehrle, in a story from TSN.

First, Mark Buehrle. A source familiar with the veteran left-hander's situation told TSN.ca the 36-year-old is dealing with multiple aches and pains and that it's "all he can do" to take the mound every fifth day.

The source was not specific about the nature of Buehrle's problems but didn't deny a question about the status of Buehrle's back.

Maybe it would be an idea to skip him one time through the rotation? I know there isn't anyone pitching all that much better, but why don't we see if we can get Mark healthy, because I don't think I can stand to watch another one of his starts.

But, then again, find someone healthy on this team.

R.A. Dickey has a good record against the Yankees, 6-3 with a 2.55 ERA. We really could use someone have a good start for us, so, RA, you are elected.
