Blue Jays option Munenori Kawasaki, Recall Scott Copeland

I tend to think Munenori Kawasaki is a good luck charm. I like having him on the bench, I think he's handy as a pinch runner, pinch hitter, middle infielder. So I'm sorry that's he's on his way back to Buffalo.

Scott Copeland is getting called up again to make tomorrow's start. Copeland has pitched 3 innings for the Blue Jays, he's allowed 2 hits, 2 walks and no runs. Down in Buffalo, he has a 1.97 ERA in 8 games, 7 starts. In 45.2 innings, he's allowed just 30 hits, 15 walks, with 28 strikeouts. If you going to call someone up for a spot start, it might as well be a guy with an ERA under 2.

Why is Aaron Sanchez getting skipped? Well,

I get the feeling Gibby is exaggerating things a little bit, but, if Sanchez is having soreness, I'm glad the team is giving him a bit of a break. Ball players will often say that there are always nagging aches and pains, but a young pitcher like Sanchez, if he's having soreness, might cause himself more troubles if he pushes through pain.

I'm very much ok with the team treating Sanchez carefully this year. He pitched about 133 innings last year. He's on pace to be around 180 innings this year, which would be plenty.

I'm curious to see Copeland tomorrow. It would be nice to think we have some pitching depth.
