'Tis the season for trade rumors.
Mark Zwolinski, in the Star, had this, hid at the bottom of his game recap:
...there are rumours and links between Toronto and Cincinnati and the supposed availability of starter Johnny Cueto — and possibly closer Aroldis Chapman, whose contract is up in 2016.
That would be interesting.
And Jim Bowden, over at ESPN, has three trade suggests that would 'fix' the Blue Jays pitching staff:
Proposed trade: CF Anthony Alford, RHP Sean Reid-Foley, RHP Miguel Castro and C Dan Jansen for Kazmir and Clippard.
I really don't want to give up Alford. Or Reid-Foley for that matter, but you have to give something to get something.
Proposed trade: Catcher Max Pentecost for Papelbon and Harang.
Somehow I don't think the Phillies go for that one. And I hate Papelbon, but you know that already.
Proposed trade: LHP Daniel Norris, RHP Liam Hendriks, LHP Jairo Labourt and SS Richard Urena for Cueto and Chapman.
I'm not sure that Liam Hendriks adds much trade value.
Let's have a poll, which of Bowden's 3 trades would you prefer?
