The Around The Nest recording studio will be a little bit more crowded today because Jesse and the Full Season Crew will be joined by Rob Fai from the short-season A Vancouver Canadians and Danny Nokes, the new guy in rookie-level Bluefield.
There's a lot going on with minor league transactions this week: prospects Chase De Jong, Anthony Alford, and Rowdy Tellez were promoted from Lansing to Dunedin, while Roemon Fields and Wil Browning have moved up to New Hampshire from Dunedin. Meanwhile, the Bisons have activated Miguel Castro from the disabled list and have sent him down to Dunedin to start throwing again. Also in Buffalo, according to Jeff Blair, Matt Boyd did not board the Bisons' bus to Scranton after missing his start Thursday. I'm sure Toronto fans would like to hear all about him.
The episode's summary from Jesse himself:
Short-season MiLB is away, with the GCL Blue Jays, Bluefield Blue Jays and Vancouver Canadians all getting into the swing of things. In Vancouver, first-rounder Jon Harris makes his professional debut. In Lansing, the Eastern Division champion Lugnuts welcome back Home Run Derby champion Ryan McBroom, now leading the Midwest League in batting average. In Dunedin, the D-Jays greet top prospects Anthony Alford, Rowdy Tellez and Chase De Jong while celebrating Jairo Labourt's Futures Game selection. In New Hampshire, Dalton Pompey continues to hit while Blake McFarland enjoys his best relief outing yet. And in Buffalo, Devon Travis continues to progress in his road back to the Major Leagues. Join the voices of the Blue Jays' Minor League system for the latests insight and outlook from all along the ladder!
