The Baby Jays had a rough night, going 0-4 with a rain out. Felix Doubront had a decent start, but was a hard luck loser for Buffalo. Former Jay 1st round pick Tyler Beede beat New Hampshire in a blow out

Buffalo Recap
Buffalo allowed 2 runs in the 1st inning and wasn't able to find a way to tie the game as they fell 2-1 to Louisville Friday night. Both clubs had 8 hits on the night, but Buffalo also had 2 errors, which led to an unearned run. Buffalo added 2 walks and 11 strike outs, while Louisville walked 3 times and struck out 10 times. The teams combined to go 1-19 with runners in scoring position in what turned out to be a pitcher's duel that saw Buffalo hit in to 3 double plays as well.

  • Felix Doubront started and allowed 2 runs on 4 hits and 3 walks through 5 innings. Doubront allowed a solo HR and 2 doubles. Felix had 8 strike outs, 4 ground outs and 2 fly outs while throwing 99 pitches, including 55 strikes
  • Chad Jenkins had 2 scoreless innings, allowing 3 hits and striking out 1
  • Phil Coke had another shutout inning, allowing a hit and striking out a batter

  • Dalton Pompey had 2 hits, including a double, and drove in the only run. He also made a couple of nice catches in the outfield
  • Chris Dickerson had 2 hits on the night, and added a stolen base
  • Andy Burns doubled and scored the only run. Burns also had a walk
  • Alex Hassan had a hit and a walk
  • Matt Hague & Josh Thole both had a hit and a strike out. Hague added a stolen base
  • Luke Scott struck out 3 times, while Ramon Santiago & Daric Barton both had 2 K's

New Hampshire Recap
New Hampshire went head-to-head with former Jays 1st round pick Tyler Beede who was making his AA debut, and Beede blew the Jays away in a 12-1 Richmond win. New Hampshire scored a run in the 9th inning, and only mustered 4 hits and 3 walks for the night. The Fisher Cats struck out 5 times. Richmond picked up 18 hits, including 7 extra base hits, and 5 walks, while striking out 10 times. Beede probably was amped up, but threw 7 innings, allowing 2 hits and 3 walks, striking out 4 batters, in a solid debut

  • Taylor Cole started and allowed 4 runs on 8 hits and a walk in 5 innings. Cole also gave up a 2-run HR. Cole did strike out 5 and recorded 6 ground outs on the night
  • Wil Browning followed and wasn't successful. Browning allowed 6 runs on 6 hits and a walk in 0.2 innings. Browning did record a K
  • Danny Barnes allowed a 2-run HR in his outing. Barnes went 1.1 innings, with 3 hits and a walk allowed
  • Cory Burns followed with a scoreless inning, walking 1 and striking out the side
  • Matt Newman pitched the 9th allowing a hit, a walk and striking out 1 in the best pitching performance from a Baby Jay position player this year

  • K.C. Hobson broke the shutout with a solo HR in the 9th inning with 2 out. Hobson also walked and struck out twice
  • Jorge Flores had a hit and a walk. Flores also struck out twice
  • Kevin Nolan & Ryan Schimpf both had a hit. Nolan also had a stolen base
  • Pierce Rankin added a walk

Dunedin Recap
Dunedin got rained out Friday night so they will play two on Saturday

Lansing Recap
Lansing fell behind in the top of 1, came back to take the lead in their half and then booted the ball around and allowed 4 unearned runs in the 2nd and then another 5 runs in the 8th in a 10-4 loss to Burlington. Lansing picked up 11 hits and 3 walks, striking out 9 times. Burlington had 13 hits and 4 walks, striking out 10 times. It was the 3rd straight night Lansing pitching stuck out double digits, but only took 1 of the 3 games. Lansing had a chance to blow the game open in the 1st, but was only able to score twice after sending 8 to the plate.

  • Sean Reid-Foley started and allowed 5 runs (1 earned) on 3 hits and 3 walks in 2 innings. SRF struck out 5, but was undone by 2 errors on the same play which resulted in the big 2nd innings. Reid-Foley also hit a batter
  • Andrew Case followed with 2 scoreless innings. He allowed 2 hits and struck out 2
  • Chase Mallard got threw 3 scoreless innings, before facing 7 batters in the 8th and being on the hook for 5 runs. He allowed the 5 runs on 8 hits and a walk in 3+ innings. Mallard struck out 2
  • Michael Kraft threw 2 scoreless innings, striking out 1

  • Tim Locastro picked up 3 more hits, including his 3rd HR of the year to lead off the 7th
  • Rowdy Tellez had 2 hits and a scored a run
  • Jason Leblebijian had 2 hits and an RBI in his return to Lansing
  • Ryan McBroom & Mike Reeves each had a hit and a walk
  • Anthony Alford & Josh Almonte both had a hit and a stolen base. Alford K'd once, while Almonte struck out twice
  • D.J. Davis had a walk and 2 K's
  • Richard Urena drove in a run and struck out 3 times

DSL Recap
The DSL Blue Jays fell behind early and weren't able to find much offense in a 9-1 loss. 2 runs in the 1st and 3 in the 3rd were more than enough for the DSL D-Backs in this one. The Jays had 9 hits and 3 walks, striking out 6 times. The D-Backs picked up 15 hits, 5 walks and 5 K's.

  • Jose Nova started and allowed 2 runs on 4 hits in an inning
  • Tommy Henriquez followed and allowed 3 runs on 3 hits and 2 walks in 2 innings
  • Pedro Diaz didn't allowed a run in 2 innings, but allowed 3 hits and 2 walks
  • Jose Acosta allowed 3 runs on 4 hits in 2 innings. Acosta struck out 2
  • Wilmin Lara allowed a run on a hit and a walk, striking out 2 in his inning

  • Yorman Rodriguez had a double and 2 singles in this one
  • Jesus Navarro picked up a single and a double
  • Francisco Rodriguez had 2 hits and a walk
  • Kevin Vicuna had 2 singles
  • Cristian Peguero & Sterling Guzman both had a walk
