It is July 24 and #HugWatch is in full force, with the most ardent of fans freaking out each time a minor league prospect gets removed early from games. Of course, these young prospects hear their names in trade rumours too and I wonder how well they are actually able to filter it out in order to focus on their jobs. This episode of Around The Nest is all about the swarm of scouts that have descended on Blue Jays farm teams and the players they are eyeing.

Here is the link to the live podcast today. As always, host Jesse Goldberg-Strassler will start the broadcast at 5 pm Eastern.

And here's the show's description from Jesse:

At the Major League level, the Toronto Blue Jays appear ready to make a deal (or more) and the Jays' Minor League broadcasters are ready. We'll hear from Triple-A Buffalo's Ben Wagner, whose Bisons are awash in scouts watching Daniel Norris, Matt Boyd, Miguel Castro and Dalton Pompey; Double-A New Hampshire, where Jeff Hoffman is the #1 attraction; A-Advanced Dunedin's Marshall Kelner, keeping a close eye on Jairo Labourt, Sean Reid-Foley, Anthony Alford and Rowdy Tellez; Single-A Lansing's David Fine, on the Lugnuts' Ryan McBroom, Dawel Lugo and Jesus Tinoco; and -- with Vancouver playing a nooner -- Advanced-Rookie Bluefield's Danny Nokes drops on by to talk Yeltsin Gudino, Nick Wells and Angel Perdomo.

Unfortunately I will have to miss the show today because I will be headed out to Ajax to watch the Canadian and American national women's team face each other in Pan Am baseball action. Both teams sit on top of the standings with 3-0 records so it promises to be an exciting game of high-quality ball. I'll just have to catch the show when it goes up on YouTube next week. Speaking of which, here is the show from last week in case you missed it!
