Thank you White Sox. The Jays' win and the Yankees' loss brings the Magic Number down.
Also, since the Tigers were nice enough to beat the Twins, the Twins can no longer catch us,
Blue Jays Magic Number to Win the Division: 6
The only team left that can catch the Jays is the Yankees.
Blue Jays 9 games left:
Rays 2 at home.
Orioles 4 at Balitmore
Rays 3 at Tampa Bay.
Yankees 9 games left:
White Sox 2 at home.
Red Sox 4 at home.
Orioles 3 at Baltimore.
Blue Jays Magic Number for Wild Card: 0
So I missed something in the Wild Card numbers. The Angels and the Rangers have a four game series to end the season. For the Angels to finish ahead of us, they have to win every game they have left (and we'd have to lose every game). And for the Astros to finish ahead of us they win every game they have left, and they have 2 more games with the Rangers. But if the Rangers lose 6 games they would finish behind the Astros in the AL West and they would finish behind us in the Wild Card race.
Twitter users @tjays05 and @james_in_to deserve all the credit for discovering that the Jays have actually clinched
#BlueJays' playoff drought has ended. #Jays have 88 wins. One of #Angels, #Astros, #Rangers must lose 75 (h/t @tjays05, @james_in_to).

If I lost you with the explaination, the important part is:
The Jays will be in the post season!
And yes, that's worth a glass of wine, or beer or whatever you want to use to celebrate.
