Blue Jays rumors: Fernando Rodney

Joe Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports

Man, it's been a long time since we've had anything close to a rumor around here, so I was happy to see this tweet about Fernando Rodney:

I wonder how active talks with several clubs works? Are they all in one room and all talk at the same time? Or is it more like an art auction?

Rodney started last season with the Mariners, and things didn't go all that well. He had a 5.69 ERA, with 16 saves (with 6 blown saves) in 54 games. A late season trade sent him to the Cubs, where he had a 0.75 ERA in 14 games. In all, he struck out 8.3/9 innings and 4.2 walks/9.

In a 13 year career, he has a 3.71 ERA, 236 saves. In 700 innings, he has allowed 612 hits, 341 walks with 685 strikeouts.

I'm not a huge fan, but we could use another arm or two in the pen.
