Saturday Bantering: Random thoughts

MLB: Baltimore Orioles at Toronto Blue Jays
No pressure Aaron, or at least no more pressure than your next few starts.

I think I’m baseballed out today. Every game has been so intense, so important, for the past two weeks that having a breather seems like a good thing.

I’m feeling pretty good about tomorrow’s game. I have a fair amount of confidence in Aaron Sanchez. Colby Lewis is pretty good, but he’s had a tough September, 0-4 with a 6.38 ERA in 4 starts, averaging 4.5 innings a start. A sweep would really feel good.

There is some talk that Jays fans should stay quiet/ignore Roughed Odor when he comes to bat. That seems a little far fetched to me, you are never going to get enough of the 49,000 people at the game to understand the plan for it to really have effect.

In the long run, I’d like Odor treated like any other Ranger. Not one that particularly matters. Just another player. Yeah, he’s a crappy person, but as a player, who cares about him.

The guy has one single in 7 at bats this series, that’s what i’d like to have continue. I’d like him to continue to be terrible. I think that’s the best way to get back at him.

Course, maybe we should boo Jose Bautista....it seems to really focus him at the plate. For that matter, he’s looked pretty good in the outfield.

I always figured Jose would be one of those guys that would do well in playoffs. He always seemed to be the type that would like being in that spot where every moment is important. Maybe he’s at his best when he thinks he has something to prove.

I will not take glee in the Red Sox losing. I will not take glee in the Red Sox losing.

But....if the Indians were to beat Sunscreen Boy tomorrow, I will likely dance around the room for 20 minutes.

I really don’t know what is going on with David Price. My only thought is that he has been told, over and over, that he is lousy in playoff games, and he’s come to believe it. You know how they tell you to visualize yourself doing well, I wonder if Price has gotten to the point where he just can’t even imagine that he will do anything but suck in a playoff game?

Don’t buy it? Me neither really.

I would guess the chance of seeing Devon Travis again this series or the next two are pretty slim. Can’t help but feel sorry for the guy.

I think it’s too early to decide that he’ll never be healthy for a full season, but I would keep Darwin Barney around for the next couple of years just to be sure.
