Oberholtzer gets a minor league deal

So, not the big signing we have been waiting on...but the Jays have signed Brett Oberholtzer to the minor league contract with a spring training invite. The lefty might have an outside shot at being a multi-inning guy out of the pen, or perhaps they might see if he can be a decent LOOGY.

Or maybe not, career OPS vs RHP .769, vs LHP .786.

Last year he had an 5.89 ERA in 70.1 innings split between the Phillies and Angels. In 37 games, 2 starts, he allowed 85 hits, 18(!) home runs, 29 walks and 54 strikeouts. His FIP was 6.22.

Cue the twitter whining about cheap Rogers, but this is the type of pickup all teams make.

You can see his career stats here.
