There is something approaching news this year, Gregor Chisholm tells us that Blue Jays starter R.A. Dickey had knee surgery to repair a torn meniscus in in his right knee, after the end of last season. That might explain why his last playoff start was pretty awful (you might remember that game, our best pitcher, that day, was Craig Pennington).
R.A. should be fine for spring training and the start of the season:
Rehab process for Dickey was 4-6 weeks. Shouldn't be any issues this spring, seemed confident everything was fine and ready to go. #BlueJays— Gregor Chisholm (@gregorMLB) February 21, 2016
Glad he got it fixed and that all is well going into the season. At 41, he's entering his free agent season.
In 3 seasons, as a Jay, he has a 3.95 ERA in 101 starts 654.1 innings. His strikeout rate dropped last year, he struck out 18.9% of batters in 2014, and 14.3/% last year.
