Not a great day for the Jays pitching staff.
R.A. Dickey pitched 3 clean 3 up 3 down innings. Unfortunately he had one bad inning in there. In the 3rd inning, R.A. gave up a leadoff single, got a strikeout and then gave up a home run. He's give up 2 more singles in the inning. In all he went 4.1 innings allowed 5 hits, 3 earned, no walks, 1 strikeout. Not great, but not terrible.
- Ryan Tepara: Got the last 2 outs of the 5th, gave up a single (letting Dickey's 3rd run score) and got a strikeout.
- Brad Penny: 2 innings, 4 hits, 2 earned, 1 home run (J.P. Arencibia took him deep). He didn't impress.
- Roberto Hernandez: 1 inning, 4 hits, 3 earned, 1 strikeout, 1 home run. Also didn't impress.
Batters:
- Kevin Pillar: 0 for 3. .158 BA on the spring. He was robbed twice. Hit a deep fly that the center fielder made an amazing catch on. He's going to have to start hitting if he wants to bat leadoff.
- Josh Donaldson: 1 for 3, strikeout. .462.
- Matt Doninguez: 0 for 2, 2 strikeouts. .294.
- Jose Bautista: 0 for 3.. .000. But he was very funny playing with the Phanatic.
- Troy Tulowitzki: 0 for 3. .308.
- Chris Colabello: 1 for 3, triple, strikeout. .350. The triple was a hard hit, down the right field line, that the right fielder dived for and a missed.
- Michael Saunders: 2 for 3, double. .350.
- Darrell Ceciliani: 1 for 1, 2 walks. .375.
- Ryan Goins: 0 for 2, 2 strikeouts. 353.
- Josh Thole: 0 for 3, strikeout. .077.
- Tony Sanchez: 1 for 1, double. .250.
- Jio Mier: 1 for 1, home run. .353.
The Jays are now 9-2-1.
