It is time for the second Around the Nest podcast of the season. As you know, Jesse Goldberg-Strassler, radio voice of the Lansing Lugnuts host the show and and features guest appearances from the radio broadcasters from each active level.
Today we'll hear from:
- Ben Wagner, Triple-A Buffalo Bisons announcer.
- Tyler Murray, radio voice of Double-A New Hampshire Fisher Cats
- Spence Siegel, the new announcer for our high-A Dunedin Blue Jays
- And, of course Jesse, to whom we say Happy Birthday to and who we offer our deepest sympathies over the death of his laptop, killed by foul ball. I guess it could have been worse, the laptop could be mourning the death of Jesse killed by foul ball. I really do feel for him. If my laptop were to die, I'd be totally lost.
Now that the weather has actually allowed the teams to get in some games, they can tell us how our young Jays look.
This week's summary:
We enter the second weekend of the Minor League Baseball season with questions on our minds. How early should player performances be evaluated? What's the story with Jon Harris's start(s)? What was learned from Mark Shapiro's visit to Buffalo? How good was Shane Dawson in his Double-A debut? All of this, plus more, checking in on Ryan Tepera, Ryan Borucki, Ryan McBroom, Ryan Cook, Ryan Hissey, and the rest of the standouts in the Blue Jays' minors.
If you missed last week's eposode, you can listen to it here.
Today's will be ready for streaming at 4:00 Eastern time. Every week Jesse takes select questions from Bluebird Banter commenters, so post you questions below.
I'm wondering about Anthony Alford's injury, how he is doing. In the same area, I'm curious how Dalton Pompey looks in Buffalo, if he's totally recovered from his 'turf toe'.
