You had to figure this was coming, at least to shake up the lineup for a day. Gibby's moving Kevin Pillar from the top spot, moving him down to 6th in the order, and moving Michael Saunders into the leadoff spot.
Pillar is hitting .188/.235/.271 with no walks, but has been hit by pitch twice.
Michael Saunders is hitting .281/.343/.500 with 3 walks.
We really do need to get someone on base in front of Donaldson, Bautista and Encarnacion. They are the only guys in the lineup hitting at all.
Pillar, in my mind wasn't the best pick for leadoff, but best pick or not, it's worth a shot to change things around. I never figured offense would be a problem this season. In the long run, I don't think it will be a problem, but I'm all for switching things up.
