Game #13 GameThread: Jays @ Red Sox

Bob DeChiara-USA TODAY Sports

A win would be nice today.

I've rarely been more irritated at a strike zone as yesterday, it seemed that, far too often, our batters were getting punished for having a good eye at the plate. Pitches that weren't close were being called strikes, generally at the worst moments.

Anyway, we have Aaron Sanchez making his third start today. He's had two good starts, getting no decisions in each. We lost both games 3-2. I'm hoping we can score a few runs for him today.

Red Sox have their knuckleball pitcher going. We had a win against him last week, even thought we only put up 2 runs in 6.2 innings. I'm hoping more runs are scored today.

And Michael Saunders is leading off. I like what he had to say about it:

We really could use someone on base in front of Donaldson and Bautista. And, maybe, the pressure will come off Pillar, and he'll have some good contact today. It seems like it's been a long time since I've seen him hit a ball hard, though that can be said about a few guys in our lineup.

And here is some good news:

No rush Travis, if you are back by the end of the week, that would be just fine. But don't rush. Kidding aside, I wouldn't expect him till mid-May at best.
