Opening Day GameThread: Jays @ Rays

Eric Bolte-USA TODAY Sports

Opening Day is finally here. I thought it would never get here.

Marcus Stroman is our opening day starter. He's had an eventful year, I've nothing but admiration for all the work he has done to get himself to the point where he is our opening day starter. Stroman had a 1.98 ERA in 13.2 innings, this spring. He allowed 10 hits, 1 home run, 0 walks and had 12 strikeouts.

Unfortunately, Chris Archer is pretty good too. He's got almost as much personality as Marcus. His official spring numbers were 3 games, 9 innings, 3 earned, 7 hits, 4 walks with 7 strikeouts. I'd image he had some innings in minor league spring games or simulated games. Last year he was 3-2, in 6 starts, with a 3.11 ERA vs the Blue Jays.

Today's lineup. I'm happy to see Edwin out there.
