Shi Davidi writes that Brett Cecil has "tear in his lat muscle" and that he'll be out for at least a month.
It leaves us a little short for lefties in the pen. Chad Girodo and Pat Venitte are the lefties on the roster. Aaron Loup has had 2 rehab appearances, I'm hoping he'll be ready to join the team soon. Pat Morales is still a long way off.
Scott Diamond is a lefty pitching in Buffalo. He has a 2.39 in 8 starts. Batters are hitting just .239 against him, with 7 walks and 25 strikeouts in 49 innings. I wonder if he has a shot getting a call up.
There is also Wade LeBlanc. He has a 1.64 ERA in 8 starts. In 49 innings he's allowed 51 hits, 10 walks with 47 strikeouts. And Pat McCoy has made 9 relief appearances, 14 innings,11 hits,6 walks, and 10 strikeouts.
Get better quick Brett.
