Around The Nest Blue Jays Minor League Podcast - Week 7: Tellez About Rowdy

Around The Nest DUN

Last night in Dunedin, Ryan McBroom had a pretty good game, going 4-for-6 with a couple of doubles. He is now hitting .274/.322/.452 with six homers in his first year in the Florida State League. On the mound, Lansing's Jon Harris is spinning a cool 1.05 ERA in his first six starts, having struck out 23 in just over 25 innings. Though to be truthful, almost half of those strikeouts came Wednesday when Harris struck out 11 Fort Wayne TinCaps over seven innings. His earned runs have come in one big clump too. In his abbreviated first start of the season, Harris gave up three earned runs and failed to escape the first inning, but he has not given up an earned run in the five starts since.

Find out more about McBroom and Harris's performances as well as Devon Travis's rehab assignment in triple-A Buffalo on this week's Around The Nest podcast hosted by the Voice of the Lansing Lugnuts Jesse Goldberg-Strassler. The podcast broadcasts live every Friday at 4 pm Eastern and features Jesse speaking with the radio voices of the four active Blue Jays affiliates.

Today, Jesse will be joined by Ben Wagner of the Bisons, Ben Gellman-Chomsky of the Fisher Cats, and Spence Siegel of the Dunedin Blue Jays.

Here is the show description from Jesse:

Well now! Things are looking up in the Blue Jays' minor leagues: Rowdy Tellez's bat is alive and well, and so is Ryan McBroom's. A.J. Jimenez has a huge day in Triple-A, as did Luis Santos in Double-A and Francisco Rios in A-Advanced. And Jon Harris's recent seven-inning, 11-strikeout gem in Single-A has brought his scoreless streak to the forefront. We're talking about the farm highlights and insights with the radio voices of the Toronto Blue Jays' affiliates.

As always, Jesse welcomes questions from Bluebird Banter readers. Simply ask them in the comments and he will try to answer them on the podcast!
