I had a feeling that Gavin Floyd was going to the DL when he walked off the mound yesterday. Floyd has had enough experience with arm troubles, I'm sure he knows the difference between soreness and a real problem.
Shi Davidi tells us it is a shoulder issue. He has tests scheduled for today (that's Floyd, not Shi).
Coming up to the Jays is Bo Schultz. Bo has pitched in 14 games at Buffalo, with a 4.24 ERA, 17 innings, 18 hits,1 home run, 3 walks and 14 strikeouts. But, in June, he's pitched in 8 games, and has a 1.80 ERA. 10 innings, 8 hits,1 walks and 10 strikeouts.
Bo did pretty good work for us last year, putting up a 3.56 ERA in 43 innings.
I was thinking they might bring Brett Cecil up, since he's had 3 rehab appearances, but I'd imagine they would like to see him pitch on back-to-back days.
Gavin, hope this turns out to be a minor issue and you are back in a couple of weeks. Bo, welcome back. Hope your time as a Jay goes great.
