With the passing of Muhammad Ali, I thought I'd share a story....not really about him.
The first time I ever felt old. My wife and I and a work friend of her's went to a bar to watch a Lennox Lewis PPV fight. This friend was younger but not 'has to show ID to get a beer' young.
She wasn't a boxing fan, and I wasn't either. I said something about the last time I watched a boxing match Muhammad Ali fought.
She didn't know who that was.
That's the first time I felt old, because you couldn't be my age and not know Ali. He wasn't just a boxer. He was much bigger than the sport. And I couldn't get over the fact that someone that was an 'adult' didn't know who he was.
I'm on the road again today (I seem to be spending most of my time on highway 2 here in Alberta lately. It has to rank near the top in most world's most boring highways.) I likely won't get the lineups into the post.
Today's pitchers:
GO JAYS GO!
