Well, this isn't news we wanted to hear.
Jose Bautista goes on the 15-day DL for a 'sprained knee', suffered when his cleats caught on the turf when he was making that throw into the infield last night.
It really isn't good news for the team. Jose just seemed to be getting his timing down again. He had 3 home runs in his last 12 games and looked like he was driving the ball much better.
In his place we get Junior Lake, making his second turn of duty with the MLB team. Lake hit .206/.289/.382 with 1 home run in 38 at bats. In Buffalo he was hitting .238/.323/.371 with 6 home runs in 291 at bats.
We still haven't learned the answer to the question "what would have to happen for Dalton Pompey to be called up?" Dalton has hit .281/.349/.359 in Buffalo this year. Not great but a fair bit better than Junior.
Update: Maybe we do know the answer:
Atkins says Pompey will eventually be up. Lake like up only until Carrera returns on the 15th. #BlueJays

Pompey will be up eventually.....figuring that, sooner or later, every other outfielder will be on the DL.
Heal up quick Jose.
Minor Leaguer has updated the Roster Tree, since Lake had to be added to the 40-man again, he was DFAed when he was sent down. There was an open spot after the Venditte trade.
