I thought Aaron Sanchez could be a good starting pitcher, I didn’t think he’d be this good this soon. League best ERA, league best home run rate. He was terrific last night, and it looks like he’ll get the start in a Wild Card game, if it happens.
The discussion about whether he has enough pitches to start seems to have gone away, with the help of an improving changeup.
If we would have put up a poll, at the start of the season, asking which of Marcus Stroman and Sanchez had the brighter future as a starter, Stroman would have won easy. Now, likely Sanchez. It's an interesting question, which of the two do you think, in 5 years, we'll be the better starter?
Your reason to visit Montreal next spring will be an end of spring training pair of games between the Blue Jays and the Pirates. Russell Martin will get to play against his old team.
The date are March 31 and April 1, 2017, and they start selling tickets Oct. 1. I enjoyed the games in Montreal in 2015. It is a beautiful city, even with a pretty crappy ballpark. Though when it is full it is kind of fun.
The city of Toronto is giving Paul Beeston the Key to the City. Beeston already has an Order of Canada and has his name on the Wall of Excellence at Rogers Centre. I’m not sure what the key does, but, for those of you in Toronto, maybe prop a chair up against your front door.
No Devon Travis again today. I’m not going to worry just yet, but if he isn’t back by this weekend, I’m going to start panicking. Ryan Goins gets the start at second. And Ezequiel gets to lead off again. After yesterday’s game, I’m not going to complain too much.

And I have a massive headache, so I'm going to try to sleep it off before game time.
