The Toronto Blue Jays have reportedly signed 31 year old Lucas Harrell to a minor league contract, with an invite to spring training.
#BlueJays sign righty Lucas Harrell to a minor league contract. He gets a spring training invite.

Harrell is a starting pitcher who can add some much needed rotation depth, as well as fight for a relief job in spring training. Harrell was mostly known for his time in Houston where in 2012 and 2013 he made a combined 54 starts.
Harrell split his time last season between the Atlanta Braves and the Texas Rangers where he made a combined 9 starts with a 3-2 record and a 4.21 ERA. Lifetime Harrell is 21-35 with a 4.77 ERA, playing in 97 games while starting 71 of those.
Harrell has mostly been a spot starter the past couple of seasons, and that is what he figures to be in Toronto if he doesn’t make the team out of spring training possibly as a long man.
