Pentecost and Zeuch named Arizona “Fall Stars”

MLB: Fall Star Game Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

There are two Blue Jays prospects who will be going to the Arizona Fall League “Fall Stars” game.

Catcher Max Pentecost and pitcher T.J. Zeuch.

I’m not exactly sure what Pentecost did to get picked. He’s hit .214/.313/.357 with 1 home run and 4 RBI in 8 games.

Zeuch is 1-0 with a 0.69 ERA in 3 starts. 13 innings, 7 hits, 2 walks and 11 strikeouts.

Let’s look at how other Jays prospects are doing in the AFL:

  • Andrew Case: 1-0, 0.00 ERA in 5 relief appearances. In 7 innings, he’s allowed 4 hits, 0 walks and 4 strikeouts.
  • Jackson McClelland: 0-0, 9.00 ERA in 4 relief appearances. 6 innings, 10 hits, 1 home run, 2 walks and 2 strikeouts.
  • Danny Young: 0-1, 19.60 in 5 relief appearances. 5 innings, 14 hits, 2 home runs, 3 walks and 3 strikeouts.
  • Lourdes Gurriel: Hit .280/.294/.500 in 13 games. 5 doubles, 2 home runs, 9 RBI, 0 walks, 6 strikeout, 2 steals, no caught stealing.
  • Jonathan Davis: Hit .275/.383/.325 in 10 games. 2 doubles, 5 RBI, 6 walks, 8 strikeouts, 3 steal, 0 caught.
