Let's have a contest to see who can predict the winners of the AL and NL Divisional Series. Tell us the winner of each series and, tie breaker, how many games the series will go (remember they are best of 5). We’ll have open threads for the games.
The four series are:
Red Sox and Astros (starting today at 4:00 Eastern, Sale vs Verlander)
Yankees and Cleveland (starting today at 7:30 Eastern, Gray vs Bauer )
Cubs and Nationals (starting tomorrow at 7:30 Eastern, Hendricks vs ?)
Diamondbacks and Dodgers (starting tomorrow at 10:30 Eastern, Kershaw vs ?)
There is a lot of baseball tomorrow. The Red Sox/Astros game is at 2:00 Eastern and the Yankees/Cleveland game is at 5:00 Eastern).
Give us your predictions before the start of today’s first game.
Me?
I’ll take the Astros in 4. After watching the Red Sox starting pitching blow up in the series against the Jays, I don’t have much faith in them.
I’ll take Cleveland in 5. I think that series will be the most interesting of the four. Both teams have great bullpens and lots of power. But, I’m picking Edwin as the deciding factor.
Cubs in 4. I have no idea, but let’s go with that. I’d like to see Adam Lind do well I’d also like to see Brandon Morrow do well. .
Dodgers in 4. The Diamondbacks pitching didn’t impress me yesterday.
