Thursday Bantering: Congratulations Astros

MLB: World Series-Houston Astros at Los Angeles Dodgers Jayne Kamin-Oncea-USA TODAY Sports

After a terrific series, that was a very boring game 7.

But Congratulations Astros. That was a deserving win.

A special congratulations to Joe Musgrove and Francisco Liriano. Also to Jake Marisnick, who missed out on the off-season fun with a fractured thumb.

And Nori Aoki and Teoscar Hernanadez will be getting a World Series ring.

George Springer gets the World Series MVP, a deserving choice, though, if they had won Tuesday, Verlander would likely have gotten the award.

And Carlos Correa proposed, on camera. If would have been so much fun if she said no.

Now we have a long winter of staring out the window, waiting for baseball to come back. And, here in Calgary, winter came today. We have a snowfall warning. I was planning to go to the gym, but I might just stay home.

I do feel sorry for Brandon Morrow. He’s one of my favorite former Jays, I would have been happy for him to get a ring. Pitching in all 7 games likely made him a few extra dollars, since he’s going on to free agency.

The Blue Jays made some news yesterday. Bo Schultz, Cesar Valdez and Darrell Ceciliani were all outrighted off the major league roster. No surprises there.

We have four players (Troy Tulowitzki, Aaron Sanchez, Dalton Pompey and Devon Travis are all on the 60-day DL and will have to be put on the 40-man roster soon.
