Plane crash claims life of Roy Halladay

I really don’t want to write this.

This afternoon, the ICON A5 aircraft owned by Roy Halladay crashed into the Gulf of Mexico. We soon learned that a body was recovered. And just a few moments ago, the Pasco Sheriff's Office announced that it was Roy Halladay.

A couple of weeks ago I got an email with video of him flying the plane and we posted it here. I have friends who fly small aircraft and the plane in question looked very cool.

Later we’ll talk about how great a pitcher Roy was and how we enjoyed watching him pitch. Beyond baseball he was just a good man. And a young man. He was just 40 years old.

Right now, I just want to express condolences to his wife and children.
