Josh Donaldson to miss a ‘couple of weeks’

MLB: ALCS-Cleveland Indians at Toronto Blue Jays Nick Turchiaro-USA TODAY Sports

Our first casualty of spring training, Josh Donaldson, is saying he is hoping he’ll only be out for a couple of weeks, with a right calf strain. Since it is so early in spring there is no rush to get back working out.

Really having a couple of weeks off isn’t a bad thing for Donaldson. He shouldn’t have any problem being ready for the regular season, even if he misses 3 or 4 weeks.

He played 155 games last year. He had a bit of a calf strain at the start of last season, but he just played through it. I guess, better to have it now than during the season, if there is a choice.

MLB Network listed Josh as the 3rd base player in baseball, in their top 100 players list. Aaron Sanchez was 78th and Tulo was 88th on the list.

I’m not going to worry about Donaldson. Or at least I’m going to keep repeating to myself that I’m not worried about Donaldson.
