There are tiny bits of Blue Jays news this morning.
- Gibby says that Rowdy Tellez is the closest to making the majors of the ‘prospects’.
- Bautista will get a couple of at bats today. He’ll DH tomorrow.
- The team is going to take it slow with the veterans. Tulo won’t play for the first week. Russell Martin won’t catch much this spring, he’ll mostly DH and, of course, Josh Donaldson is 2 weeks or so from game action. I like the idea of going slow with the regulars, and not working them hard in camp. It is a long season, and players come into camp in game shape these days. Might as well not wear them out.
We get two games today. The Phillies are visiting Dunedin, that game is on TV and radio. And younger Jays are visiting Tampa Bay to play the Yankees.
The sad part for me is: I’m driving up to Edmonton, taking my dad home after 10 days with us, so I’ll miss watching. I’m hoping I can get it on radio.
Today’s lineups:
