The Jays take the short trip to Clearwater today, to play the Philles. The game isn’t on Sportsnet, but it is on MLB.tv. And we get to see Michael Saunders in Phillies colors (Phillie colors? Philly colors?).
Francisco Liriano gets the start. He looked great in his first appearance, 2 innings, 2 singles, 3 strikeouts.
Not much for news our of the Jays camp, other than:
Gibbons says #Bluejays are looking at an Upton/Carrera platoon in LF right now, acknowledging Zeke's reverse splits. #Jays

Oh well.
Earlier in the spring I asked if Smoak finished spring with a .000 batting average and Tellez slugged 1.000 would that be enough to give Tellez the first base job. Well, Tellez isn’t slugging 1.000.
Now I’m wondering what Pompey would have to do to get consideration for a job on the team. Ezequiel has 3 hits in 7 at bats, so I’d imagine there is nothing Pompey could do to get the job.
Upton, on the other hand, is 1 for 9.
Oh well, it’s early yet.
Today’s lineup.
