The end of spring training. A day to be celebrated.
There are a couple of bits of Blue Jays news:
- The team announced John Gibbon’s contract extension. He is signed through the 2020 season. Gibbons was told by media nothing is guaranteed with new deals, Gibbons interrupts "Oh yeah it does...money."
- There are a couple of roster decisions to be made today. It looks like it comes down to Goins vs. Upton. Personally, I don’t understand why you could take Goins over Upton, other than personalities. If they keep Goins, I’m guessing that means Pearce in left and Smoak at first. If they keep Upton it means Carrera/Upton in left and Pearce at first.
- Angel Pagan is still out there, but I’m to the point that I don’t care anymore.
- The Jays signed Chris Coghlan, adding to our depth in the outfield. And maybe corner infield spots. He’ll be assigned to Buffalo.
- Francisco Liriano gets the start today.
The lineup for our spring finale in Montreal!
