We have a clearer picture of the open day roster. The Blue Jays put Mike Bolsinger on waivers after today’s game.
Bolsinger had a bad game today, and really a pretty poor spring. In 9 appearances, he had a 6.23 ERA. 13 innings, 18 hits, 9 walks and 16 strikeouts. There was also some wild pitches mixed in there.
Last year, after being picked up from the Dodgers, he had a 6.04 ERA in 25.1 innings in Buffalo. That’s after a 6.83 ERA in 6 starts for the Dodgers.
So that makes it pretty likely Aaron Loup and Ryan Tepera will make the opening day roster out of the bullpen.
I wasn’t a fan of Bolsinger, but I do wish him the best. I hope he can find a team that wants him.
So now our attention turns to Melvin Upton and Ryan Goins. I’m hoping they go with Upton.
Update, doesn’t look good for Melvin:
Sources: The Jays are looking at alternatives to Melvin Upton, Jr. for their roster, although they have not made a final decision.

Apparently, the Jays are shopping him.
