This season just keeps kicking us.
The Jays have placed Aaron Sanchez on the 10-day DL with a continuation of his blister problem. The blister is on his right middle finger. It explains why he suddenly had troubles in his last start, but don’t explain why the Jays didn’t pull him as soon as it became an issue.
They have called up reliever Matt Dermody to take his spot on the roster. Dermody had made 2 appearances, 1 start, for Buffalo. In 4.2 innings, he’s allowed 4 hits, 3 earned, 1 homer, 1 walk with 7 strikeouts. Half his outs have been strikeouts. He pitched 3 innings for us last year. He pitched 6 spring training innings, allowing 7 hits, 3 earned, 1 walks with 4 strikeouts.
We have an off-day Monday, so we shouldn’t need to call someone up to make a start until Saturday the 22nd.
Heal up quick Aaron.
