We have good news and bad new on the Blue Jays injury front.
Oh, let’s start with the good news.
Jon Morosi is saying that the MRI on J.A. Happ’s elbow showed no damage, just inflammation. That would be very good news, he shouldn’t miss too much time, though he would be going on the 10-day DL. If all goes well, he shouldn’t miss more than a couple of starts.
No word yet on who will fill in for Happ, or Aaron Sanchez.
On the bad news end, Ken Rosenthal is reporting that Josh Donaldson will miss 2 to 4 weeks with his calf injury. Donaldson says that he is ‘walking gingerly’ but there is ‘not as much swelling as there was when he hurt it during spring training’.
Donaldson will be gone for at least the rest of April and likely a good part of May. We’ll get to see more of Chris Coghlan, along with Darwin Barney and Ryan Goins at third base. Not good news for a team that really needs to start scoring.
