Dominic Leone looks to be this years Mike McCoy, bouncing back and forth from Buffalo, time after time. This time, he doesn’t have to wait the full ten days, for his recall, because the Jays are putting J.P. Howell on the DL with a left shoulder strain (the sarcastic me wants to call it Crappy Arm Disease, soon there will be a telethon for CAD, it strikes 1 in 3 pitchers at some point in their lifetimefetime).
Leone looked very good in his relief appearance, in the game that Francisco Liriano blew up. His reward was a trip to Buffalo.
Howell had the very bad inning in the Liriano game, but it seems like there was a reason for his troubles.
I figured Casey Lawrence would be heading out today, but he gets to stay to earn some more major league money. I have to figure that, if he can spend a couple of weeks up with the Jays, he’ll earn more money than he made in 7 minor league seasons.
Welcome back Dominic. Get well quick J.P.
