Donaldson pulled from game

MLB: Toronto Blue Jays at Tampa Bay Rays Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

Josh Donaldson came out of today’s game, in the 6th inning, with what looks like a calf injury.

On a ground out, Josh grabbed his calf and started limping after running through first base and then had a slight limp as he walked off the field. In the bottom of the inning Ryan Goins came out to play third.

Donaldson had a calf injury that kept him out of spring training games for a couple of weeks. This looks like a similar injury. Hopefully he’ll be ok for Tuesday’s home opener. Tomorrow’s off-day comes at a good moment.

Donaldson gave us one of the very few good moments of the first few innings of today’s game, hitting a solo homer.

I’m sure we’ll hear more after the game.

Update:

Jays are calling it right calf tightness.
