Blue Jays roster moves: Campos down, Ceciliani up

It’s surprises me that I start thinking a 3-man bench is a good thing.

Anyway, Leonel Campos is on his way to Buffalo (for the second time this week, maybe this time he’ll make it). Campos pitched 2.2 innings last night. He gave up 3 hits, including a home run that must have almost touched the roof, 2 earned, a walk, 4 strikeouts and 1 hit batter. In 5 MLB innings he has a 3.60 ERA. I’d imagine he’ll be back.

Darrell Ceciliani gets the call up. Darrell is hitting .145/.188/.158 with 3 walks and 21 strikeouts in 21 games. Let me check that, it can’t be right. Nope that’s it. I feel like channeling Zaun, ‘back in my day a .145 batting average got you demoted, not promoted’.

Darrell played in 13 games for us last year, he hit .111/.172/.185 in his 27 at bats.

Odds are Ceciliani isn’t here for long. Troy Tulowitzki is to be activated tomorrow, so I’d imagine Darrell is only here for today.

With Tulo back tomorrow (hopefully) and Josh Donaldson to return soon, we could be watching a real MLB team soon.
