Jose Bautista to play third base tonight

MLB: Toronto Blue Jays at Baltimore Orioles Evan Habeeb-USA TODAY Sports

So here is something I never thought I’d see again in my life. Jose Bautista is starting at third base tonight (unless the Jays beat reporters are having a little fun with us). He hasn’t had a start at third since April of 2013. I really don’t understand but I’m guessing (as I type this the lineup hasn’t been posted yet) that Kendrys Morales is going to play playing right field (which should be worth the price of admission for Brewer fans). And Justin Smoak at first.

Since we are playing in an NL park, no DH today.

I’m really not liking the idea. Jose really doesn’t have range for right field anymore, moving him to a more demanding position is not something I’d want to do, unless it is just for a couple of innings at the end of a game.

Kendrys in right....presuming that is the move, again, is really something I don’t want to see, but, like any car crash, I won’t be able to take my eyes off of it.

I’ll update this with the lineup when it is posted. We live in interesting times.

Update:

Ok I was wrong, Bautista at third, Coghlan in LF, Morales at first and Carrera in right. Alford on the bench.

Moving Bautista to third base so that Coghlan can play is.......I can't think of the right word. Stupid is close. Weird? Wrong? Inexpiable? Farrelling?
